POOL SERVICE CHANDLER AZ ACID WASHING YOUR POOL
Do you have unsightly stains and algae spores that won't come clean? Have you tried scrubbing and scrubbing but it still won't come clean? You may want to consider doing a pool acid washing. Acid washing your pool is the process of removing stains either from hard water or algae or a combination of different elements that over time have made it look just downright ugly! Since plaster is porous, algae spores can make its way deep into the surface of the concrete and continue to bloom. When you acid wash, this will completely eliminate all that nasty algae growth.
Now, if you're a real go getter and are of a handy nature, you could acid wash it yourself. If you're like the rest of us and would rather not deal with this very in depth process and take the chance of either hurting yourself or your pool's concrete surface, I would leave it to the professionals, that's us...Chandler Pool Service and Repair!
BEWARE! Acid is a dangerous chemical. It can cause severe burns and breathing problems if precautionary measures, like wearing protective equipment, are not taken beforehand.
The acid washing process involves draining all of the water out of your pool, spraying down the walls and bottom with the acid solution then scrubbing the surfaces with a brush. You then need to wash down the surface with water in order to prevent damage to the concrete. Once all surfaces have been treated, it is best to neutralize the acidic water with soda ash and then drain it out of the pool. Never attempt to use acid wash on a vinyl lined pool.
You should only have to acid wash your pool every 5-7 years if the water in the pool has been properly maintained. Doing an acid wash any more than this may cause damage to the pool's surface. It is also best not to perform an acid wash when temperatures are above 90 degrees to prevent cracking of tiled surfaces.
